Naseer Ahmad Faiq, the acting head of Afghanistan\u2019s permanent mission to the United Nations, has strongly condemned the Taliban administration\u2019s blocking of meetings between Hamid Karzai and the public and tribal elders, as well as the entry of Taliban forces into Karzai\u2019s home.<\/p>\n
In a post on his X account on Thursday, 2 October, he said Afghanistan cannot be run through force, threats, intimidation and silencing of different views, adding that such behaviour creates neither legitimacy nor stability.<\/p>\n
Faiq described Hamid Karzai as one of the country\u2019s well-known political and national figures, saying he has in recent years stressed peace, mutual acceptance, dialogue and the protection of national interests.<\/p>\n
According to him, Hamid Karzai, like every other Afghan citizen, has the right to live in the country with dignity and security, meet with people and express his views freely.<\/p>\n
Faiq also said Afghans have the right to meet and talk freely with one another and to express their views on the fate and future of their country.<\/p>\n
The acting head of Afghanistan\u2019s permanent mission to the United Nations stressed that the way out of the current crisis is through tolerance, national dialogue, respect for citizens\u2019 rights and dignity, and the formation of a genuine and inclusive political process.<\/p>\n
Hamid Karzai, Afghanistan\u2019s former president, has remained in Kabul since the Taliban returned to power and has on various occasions taken a position on political dialogue and the creation of an inclusive structure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
