The U.S. Embassy has said the country’s Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), working with Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), has seized 463 kilograms of crystal meth in a joint operation.<\/p>\n
According to the U.S. Embassy, the shipment was valued at more than $21 million and was due to be transported through Pakistan to Sri Lanka. The embassy said the consignment originated from trafficking networks linked to Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
The embassy also said several people have been arrested in connection with the case and further investigations are under way.<\/p>\n
It added that cooperation between the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and Pakistani forces, particularly in training, plays a role in identifying and dismantling transnational drug trafficking networks and strengthening regional and global security.<\/p>\n
