The Taliban administration has announced that the process of registering the remaining SIM cards will soon be completed, a move that, alongside claims of a reduction in illegal SIM cards, was at the centre of its latest talks with telecommunications companies.<\/p>\n
Abdul Ahad Fazli, acting minister of communications and information technology in the Taliban administration, discussed SIM card registration, the expansion of telecom services and the challenges facing the sector in a meeting with representatives of telecommunications companies.<\/p>\n
According to him, the distribution and sale of illegal SIM cards have fallen to zero, and the registration process for the small number of remaining SIM cards will also be finalized soon. This claim was made by the Taliban administration.<\/p>\n
Telecommunications company officials also pledged at the meeting that, alongside improving services, they would continue expanding telecom services in underserved parts of the country.<\/p>\n
