A number of Afghans living in Germany held a protest gathering on Sunday evening, Sept. 20, 2026, to demonstrate against what they said was the Taliban administration\u2019s growing restrictions on Afghanistan\u2019s Shiites and the seizure of the Khatam al-Nabiyyin scientific centres in Kabul.<\/p>\n
At the rally, the protesters called on the international community not to remain indifferent to what is happening in Afghanistan and to stop engagement with the Taliban administration. The main focus of the protest was said to be concern over intensifying pressure on Shiites and its consequences for Afghanistan\u2019s social and religious situation.<\/p>\n
According to the organisers, the gathering included not only Afghans but also a number of protesters from Iran, Lebanon and Iraq, as well as some German citizens. Participants described the Taliban administration\u2019s treatment of Afghanistan\u2019s Shiites as a form of genocide.<\/p>\n
