Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai has expressed condolences to the families of those killed and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded in response to recent Pakistani attacks in eastern Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
He also said Pakistan’s current security problems were the result of what he described as the country’s “wrong policies” toward Afghanistan, and urged Pakistani officials to review those policies.<\/p>\n
Karzai stressed that, instead of a confrontational approach, Pakistan should pursue the principles of good neighbourliness, friendly relations and civilised engagement in its ties with Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
According to Taliban administration officials, the attacks took place overnight in Nurgal district of Kunar province and Barmal district of Paktika province. Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Taliban administration, said three civilians, including a woman and two men, were killed in the attack on Kunar and four others were injured.<\/p>\n
He said a house and a shop were also targeted in Barmal district of Paktika, but the incident did not cause any casualties.<\/p>\n
Nurgal district in Kunar province is located in eastern Afghanistan, while Barmal district is among the border areas of Paktika province with Pakistan; areas that have previously also repeatedly witnessed border tensions and clashes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
