According to the Taliban administration\u2019s Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the event began on Tuesday, Sept. 24, and will continue for three days.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the ministry said Afghan products are being displayed in more than 100 booths at the exhibition. Carpets, saffron, precious and semi-precious stones, handicrafts, cotton, dried fruits and clothing are among the goods on show.<\/p>\n<p>Nouruddin Azizi, acting minister of industry and commerce of the Taliban administration, said at the opening ceremony that Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have taken steps in recent years to expand trade, transit and economic ties. He added that the goal is to move cooperation beyond trade exchanges to joint production and investment, the creation of supply chains and the expansion of exports.<\/p>\n<p>Also attending the ceremony was Ismatullah Irgashev, the Uzbek president\u2019s special representative for Afghanistan.
