Abdullah Abdullah, former Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation in Afghanistan\u2019s previous government, has strongly condemned Pakistan’s recent airstrikes on Afghan soil.<\/p>\n
In a message posted Tuesday, November 24, on the social media platform X, Abdullah stated that the airstrikes, which occurred in the provinces of Khost, Kunar, and Paktika, constitute a clear violation of Afghan airspace and targeted civilians.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that military options are not the solution to ongoing crises between the two countries, adding that increased violence only deepens the suffering of the Afghan people.<\/p>\n
The former reconciliation chief also called for disputes between the Taliban administration and the Pakistani government to be resolved through constructive dialogue and negotiations.<\/p>\n
On Monday evening, the Taliban confirmed that Pakistani air forces had bombed several homes in the three aforementioned provinces. However, no details regarding possible casualties were provided. This is not the first time Pakistan has launched cross-border attacks\u2014previous incidents have also sparked strong political and public backlash.<\/p>\n
In the absence of a legitimate government, defending Afghanistan\u2019s territorial integrity has become a serious challenge.
