According to the administration, the visit will focus on finalising oil product contracts and discussing the expansion of economic cooperation. However, the exact date of the trip and details of the planned contracts have not yet been made public.

The matter was raised during a meeting between Alireza Bikdeli, Iran’s ambassador to Afghanistan, and Ahmadjan Bilal. The two sides discussed expanding economic, trade and development cooperation between Tehran and Kabul.

At the meeting, Bikdeli said Iran was ready to cooperate with Afghanistan’s state-owned companies in the fields of oil, electricity, fertiliser production, improved seeds, poultry farming and a number of industrial and agricultural sectors. He described this readiness as part of Tehran’s policy to expand regional cooperation and support development projects in Afghanistan.

Ahmadjan Bilal welcomed the proposals and said the Taliban administration wanted to broaden economic cooperation with Iran through joint projects and long-term contracts.
