He claimed that under these plans, all smuggling attempts have been thwarted and no one is allowed to smuggle people or other goods.<\/p>\n
According to him, the Taliban administration\u2019s defence forces are working to ensure border security and will not allow destructive activities or the creation of insecurity. However, the report provided no specific details on the scale of smuggling, how it is being contained, or figures on border incidents.<\/p>\n
A number of residents have also stressed the importance of border security. Abdul Rashid, a resident of Nangarhar, said securing the borders is very important and security forces must carry out this task properly.<\/p>\n
The issue of security along the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border has again drawn the attention of regional countries following a recent incident in the area. The Taliban administration, meanwhile, says there is no serious security threat in this sector.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Collective Security Treaty Organization said it would provide military equipment from this autumn to strengthen Tajikistan\u2019s border with Afghanistan, with Russia playing the main role in supplying the equipment.
