Media reports say a passenger train carrying a number of European officials, including former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, was hit by a drone attack near the border with Poland.<\/p>\n
Euronews, citing Ukraine’s state railway company, reported that the incident took place on Sunday in the Volyn region and that a Russian drone struck the train’s locomotive. According to the company, the site of the incident was about two kilometres from the Polish border.<\/p>\n
Reports say no casualties are believed to have been caused by the attack. However, the targeting of a train carrying senior European officials near the Polish border has turned the incident into a sensitive security matter.<\/p>\n
In a post on its Telegram channel, Ukraine’s railway company said the country’s rail network had come under attack for a second consecutive day. It added that the threat-monitoring team identified the risk in time, and the train crew took the necessary safety measures to protect passengers and staff before the situation worsened.<\/p>\n
