The Commission for Addressing the Problems of Migrants has said that over the past 24 hours, 137 families comprising 610 people entered Afghanistan from Iran and Pakistan, while another 97 families were transferred to various provinces.<\/p>\n
According to the report, the largest number of returnees entered through Torkham, where 85 families comprising 400 people arrived in Afghanistan. In addition, 80 families comprising 424 people were transferred from this route to the provinces of Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman and Kabul, and 323,470 afghanis were spent on their transport.<\/p>\n
The commission said that in Torkham, 119 families received a total of 976,000 afghanis in cash assistance. The body added that health and telecommunications services were also provided to returnees at the Omari camp.<\/p>\n
In Spin Boldak in Kandahar, seven families comprising 30 people also entered Afghanistan. Eight families comprising 37 people were likewise transferred from this route to various provinces, and 59,200 afghanis were paid for their transportation.<\/p>\n
According to the commission, seven families in Spin Boldak received 46,000 afghanis in cash assistance. The body added that food, health and telecommunications services were also provided to returnees at this crossing.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, 39 families comprising 151 people entered Afghanistan through the Silk Bridge route in Nimroz province. On the Islam Qala route in Herat, six families comprising 29 people also returned to the country, and a total of 48,000 afghanis in cash assistance was allocated to them.<\/p>\n
The Transport and Transfer Committee in Kabul also moved nine families comprising 43 people to various provinces and paid 64,000 afghanis for their transportation. In its summary, the commission said assistance was also provided to 132 families during this period.<\/p>\n
