In this context, he pointed to the activities of China and Russia in Afghanistan, saying China is seeking to dominate Afghanistan\u2019s natural resources and Russia is also \u201cvery active\u201d in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Khalilzad stressed that US policy toward Afghanistan should be set based on the country\u2019s current and future conditions and should make clear what kind of country Washington wants Afghanistan to become in the future.<\/p>\n<p>He currently holds no official position in the US government.
