The head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment has called for increased trade, investment attraction and expanded economic cooperation between Afghanistan and Russia during a meeting with the Russian ambassador in Kabul.<\/p>\n
The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment said Sayed Karim Hashemi raised the issue in a meeting with Russian Ambassador Dmitry Zhirnov on the sidelines of the 35th anniversary celebrations of Uzbekistan’s independence. He asked the Russian embassy to encourage traders and investors from Russia to explore investment opportunities in Afghanistan’s large sectors with economic potential.<\/p>\n
Hashemi also called for the participation of Russian companies and traders in the fifth Abu Hanifa National and International Exhibition. According to the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, the exhibition is scheduled to be held on Oct. 7 in Kabul, corresponding to 15 Mizan.<\/p>\n
The head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment further stressed sending an Afghan trade delegation to Moscow and asked the Russian embassy to cooperate in planning the trip and arranging meetings between traders from the two countries, especially with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia.<\/p>\n
In response, the Russian ambassador welcomed the holding of the Abu Hanifa exhibition and said his embassy was ready to encourage Russian companies and traders to take part. He also said the Russian embassy was prepared to cooperate on the Afghan trade delegation’s visit to Russia and to facilitate economic meetings between the private sectors of the two countries.<\/p>\n
