Local media reported that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, envoys of the US president, arrived in Ukraine on Sunday to continue their talks with Ukrainian officials.<\/p>\n
The visit follows their three-hour meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. According to the report, the focus of the consultations was to examine ways to resume negotiations and reach an agreement to end the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the Russian president, said Putin\u2019s conversation with the two envoys was \u201cconstructive\u201d and \u201cvery frank.\u201d He added that Witkoff and Kushner had pledged to take into account Putin\u2019s assessments on settling the Ukraine conflict in their talks in Kyiv.<\/p>\n
According to Ushakov, Putin stressed during the meeting that he was ready for constructive dialogue with the United States on ending the conflict in Ukraine. He also said the Russian president had called for addressing what he described as the \u201croot causes\u201d of the conflict.<\/p>\n
