The media outlet said there is no longer any justification for continued silence in the face of what it described as “force and pressure” and the desecration of scientific and religious centres.

In a statement on Saturday, 14 Sunbula, Tamadon TV said that although it had been able to continue satellite broadcasts and operate on social media, it had refrained from resuming activity on the advice of scholars and elders in order to resolve disputes peacefully. The outlet now says it will provide the public with documented records of correspondence, commitments and discussions held with the Taliban administration’s Ministry of Justice.

The statement said the Ministry of Justice of the Taliban administration had once again resorted to “force and pressure” and, by raiding the Khatam al-Nabiyyin seminary, had harassed teachers and students at the centre and detained some of them. Tamadon TV also wrote: “The era of silence in the face of lawlessness, bullying and the desecration of scientific and religious centres by the Taliban Ministry of Justice has ended.”

According to sources, forces affiliated with the Taliban administration’s Ministry of Justice surrounded the Khatam al-Nabiyyin seminary in Kabul on Saturday and asked officials and students to evacuate the centre. According to these reports, the forces were stationed around the seminary with military equipment and detained a number of teachers and students.

Previously, a number of Shiites had gathered at the Khatam al-Nabiyyin seminary in protest at the move. Videos published from the site show the presence of protesters in the centre’s compound.

Tamadon TV was shut down in early July this year on the order of the Taliban administration’s Ministry of Justice. The ministry later claimed that the media outlet’s activities were halted because of its ties to the Islamic Movement Party and its use of “usurped” state land, but Tamadon TV rejected those claims.

The Khatam al-Nabiyyin seminary is one of the best-known centres for the teaching of Shiite religious sciences in Kabul. It was founded in 2007 on the initiative of Mohammad Asif Mohseni. Alongside religious education, the centre has also been active in scientific, research and cultural fields.

Tamadon TV says it is resuming activity after the Taliban raided the Khatam al-Nabiyyin seminary in Kabul and detained teachers and students.

[15,17

post-21154","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-culture","category-important-news
["GET
