The Taliban administration says construction work on the Khwaja Bahauddin-Yangi Qala road in Takhar province is under way in several sections, a route that, once completed, will make travel easier for residents of several districts to the provincial capital.<\/p>\n
The Taliban’s Ministry of Public Works said the project is 28.6 kilometres long and is estimated to cost more than 901.603 million Afghanis. According to the ministry, the contract for the project has been signed between the Ministry of Public Works and the private sector.<\/p>\n
The road begins in Khwaja Bahauddin district and stretches to Yangi Qala district. The Taliban-led Ministry of Public Works said the route is one of the important transport roads in Takhar province and connects districts across the Kawkcha River.<\/p>\n
The ministry added that once the project is completed, the difficulties faced by residents of the mentioned districts in reaching the provincial capital will be reduced, and the transport of agricultural products and commercial goods will also become easier.<\/p>\n
