Pakistan’s ambassador in Tehran met with a number of Iranian health tourism managers and representatives of several hospitals to review ways to expand cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad in healthcare and medical tourism.<\/p>\n
According to Irav, the meeting was held on Friday evening hosted by Imran Ahmad Siddiqui, Pakistan’s ambassador in Tehran, and focused on identifying shared capacities and exploring solutions for bilateral cooperation in the health sector.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, participants pointed to rising demand for Iran’s medical services in the region and stressed the need to establish direct links between hospitals in the two countries, facilitate the admission process for Pakistani patients, and expand joint mechanisms between the public and private sectors.<\/p>\n
Other topics discussed included the exchange of medical knowledge and expertise, standardisation of healthcare services, and strengthening patient transfer routes.<\/p>\n
Iranian health sector officials at the meeting highlighted Iran’s capabilities in advanced treatments, specialised surgeries and hospital services, and said the country was ready to expand cooperation with Pakistan through joint training programmes, the development of a patient referral network and the creation of streamlined routes for medical tourism.<\/p>\n
At the end of the meeting, both sides stressed the continuation of health-focused cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad and described the expansion of bilateral ties in health and medicine as important for developing medical services and increasing people-to-people contacts between the two countries.<\/p>\n
