Abdul Matin Qane, spokesman for the Taliban administration’s interior ministry, said the security situation in areas near Afghanistan’s borders is normal. He claimed this situation is in place in areas near the Durand Line as well as other official borders, including the border with Tajikistan.<\/p>\n
According to Qane, Pakistan has repeatedly tried to disrupt security in parts of Badakhshan province and other areas near the disputed border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. He added that these efforts have been thwarted.<\/p>\n
The Taliban interior ministry spokesman also said significant budgets have been allocated to manage Afghanistan’s borders and its so-called imaginary lines. He did not provide details on the size of these budgets or how they are being spent.<\/p>\n
The remarks come after Fazal Qadir Mandokhail, a representative of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party in the Balochistan provincial assembly, claimed that thousands of former Afghan army soldiers had been transferred to areas under Pakistani control near the Durand Line. He said the men were armed and called on the Pakistani government to clarify their whereabouts and how they were moved.<\/p>\n
However, Mandokhail did not provide any evidence to support his claim in talks with the media. The Balochistan provincial government has also said it has no credible information or evidence on the matter.<\/p>\n
