Bloomberg has reported that Ukraine will face a serious shortage of air defence missiles in the coming winter, a shortfall linked, according to Ukrainian-side data, to Kyiv\u2019s urgent need for at least 300 modern PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot system.<\/p>\n
The report says existing US stocks are limited in meeting this need. According to Bloomberg, Washington has only 800 modern Patriot PAC-3 missiles, along with a number of older PAC-2 missiles in reserve, which are described as ineffective.<\/p>\n
The report also cites assessments by a number of experts who view the US attack on Iranian territory as one of the factors reducing Washington\u2019s and its allies\u2019 air defence capabilities. In the view of these experts, Iran has been able to destroy expensive and scarce US air defence missiles by using low-cost missiles and drones.<\/p>\n
