The Taliban\u2019s acting minister of higher education in Kapisa province has called on students to refrain from any political activity, in a move that continues the administration\u2019s restrictions on political and civil activity in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
Neda Mohammad Nadeem said on Wednesday at the graduation ceremony for 705 students at Al-Biruni University that the Taliban does not allow political activity and that students must defend the orders of Hibatullah Akhundzada and the system of the administration. He also urged students to stand against what he described as the \u201cnegative propaganda of the enemy\u201d with their pens and to play the role of a \u201cmujahed\u201d each.<\/p>\n
According to him, obeying the commands of the \u201cIslamic system\u201d is obligatory for everyone. The Taliban\u2019s acting minister of higher education also referred to the difference between the \u201crepublic\u201d and the \u201cIslamic system,\u201d saying that under the system favoured by the administration, decisions are made on the basis of the \u201cbook of Almighty God.\u201d<\/p>\n
In another part of his remarks, Nadeem stressed obedience to Hibatullah Akhundzada and urged students to take his orders and guidance as their model. The comments came as the Taliban, since returning to power, has abolished the activity of political parties and has not allowed other groups to engage in political or organisational activity.<\/p>\n
