According to The Times of Israel, citing Mehr News Agency, Sara Netanyahu claimed that Yair Golan had prior knowledge of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation before it took place. The remarks come as pressure continues to mount on Benjamin Netanyahu over his handling of the crisis and the security lapses.<\/p>\n
Yair Golan has rejected the accusation and said he would file a complaint against the Israeli prime minister\u2019s wife. His party also said Netanyahu is seeking to shift responsibility away from himself rather than apologise for the security failures.<\/p>\n
Amid the tensions, Gadi Eisenkot, one of Netanyahu\u2019s main rivals, said he was avoiding accountability over what he described as the biggest failure in Israel\u2019s history.<\/p>\n
At the same time, reports say Netanyahu\u2019s cabinet has prevented the formation of an official committee to examine the security gaps, despite three years having passed since the Al-Aqsa Flood operation.
