The Afghanistan Freedom Front says clashes between its forces and Taliban administration forces in Zibak district of Badakhshan province began on Thursday evening and continued until dawn on Friday, the sixth of Sunbula\/Sep. <\/p>\n
In a statement, the front claimed that during several hours of fighting, fresh Taliban administration forces sent to Zibak to reinforce the group\u2019s members were forced to retreat.<\/p>\n
According to the Freedom Front, the Taliban administration had also dispatched new reinforcements from Kabul to Zibak district at the same time as changes were taking place in Badakhshan\u2019s local administration. The front said light and heavy weapons were used in the clash and that Taliban administration forces suffered casualties.<\/p>\n
The Freedom Front also claimed that the wounded and dead among Taliban administration forces were transferred after the clash to medical centres in Zibak, Baharak and Faizabad hospital, the capital of Badakhshan province, but it did not specify the exact number of casualties.<\/p>\n
Zibak district is among the border areas of Badakhshan province, and in recent months reports have also been published of scattered clashes between armed opponents of the Taliban administration and its forces in parts of the province.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
