{"id":20646,"date":"2026-08-29T14:46:14","date_gmt":"2026-08-29T14:46:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/2026\/08\/29\/taliban-shut-down-lapis-media-office-kabul\/"},"modified":"2026-08-29T14:46:14","modified_gmt":"2026-08-29T14:46:14","slug":"taliban-shut-down-lapis-media-office-kabul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/2026\/08\/29\/taliban-shut-down-lapis-media-office-kabul\/","title":{"rendered":"Taliban shut down Lapis media office in Kabul"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Afghanistan Journalists Center has said that the Taliban intelligence department closed the Kabul office of the media company Lapis, which is affiliated with the Moby Media Group, and confiscated its working equipment, bringing the media outlet\u2019s activities to a halt.<\/p>\n<p>According to the centre, Taliban intelligence forces entered the Lapis office on the fourth day of the month of Shahrivar in Kabul\u2019s Wazir Akbar Khan area, on 12th Street, stopped its operations and asked employees to leave the premises and go home.<\/p>\n<p>In its report, the Afghanistan Journalists Center added that Taliban forces also took away the office\u2019s computers and data storage equipment without providing a clear reason or any official explanation.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, media outlets close to Taliban intelligence, including the Hindukush website, have claimed that the company was shut down for publishing \u201cobscene and immoral content\u201d and promoting a \u201cWestern lifestyle and ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company Lapis is affiliated with the Moby Media Group, which is owned by Saad Mohseni.
