According to them, of the total 153-kilometre route designated in Herat province, 145 kilometres have been prepared.<\/p>\n<p>Based on information from the Taliban-run Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, 120 kilometres of pipeline along this route have so far been welded, and 51 kilometres have also been laid underground. The ministry has also said that work on designing the gas distribution network has begun.<\/p>\n<p>The TAPI project is one of the regional gas transmission schemes that carries Turkmen gas through Afghanistan to Pakistan and India.
