Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, the acting Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Taliban administration, held a meeting with Alireza Bikdeli, Iran\u2019s ambassador to Kabul, to discuss expanding labor cooperation between the two sides.<\/p>\n
According to an official statement from the Ministry of Labor, the talks focused on improving vocational and technical training in Afghanistan, the situation of Afghan migrants in Iran, and legalizing the status of Afghan migrant workers.<\/p>\n
Mullah Omari emphasized the Taliban administration\u2019s interest in leveraging Iran\u2019s successful experience in vocational education and expressed a desire to create new opportunities for expanding economic and trade relations. He also stressed that the situation of Afghan workers in Iran should not remain illegal and called for joint efforts to regulate their status.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Iranian ambassador highlighted the strengthening of economic relations between the two countries and stated that conditions were favorable for increased investment. He expressed hope that Iran\u2019s Deputy for Employment Affairs would soon visit Kabul for constructive discussions on labor exchange and job market management.<\/p>\n
The meeting comes amid ongoing legal, social, and economic challenges faced by Afghan migrants in Iran. The lack of a secure program for managing labor migration has increased their vulnerability.
