{"id":20476,"date":"2026-08-27T06:30:16","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T06:30:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/2026\/08\/27\/640-afghan-migrants-return-pakistan-prisons\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T06:30:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T06:30:16","slug":"640-afghan-migrants-return-pakistan-prisons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/2026\/08\/27\/640-afghan-migrants-return-pakistan-prisons\/","title":{"rendered":"640 Afghan migrants return home after release from Pakistani prisons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Taliban-run Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has said that 640 Afghan migrants returned to Afghanistan this week after being released from prisons in Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>According to the ministry, 585 of the individuals entered Afghanistan through the Torkham crossing, while 55 others returned to the country via the Spin Boldak route in Kandahar province.<\/p>\n<p>The Taliban administration said the returnees include families, children and others who were transferred to Afghanistan after their release from Pakistani prisons.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry added that humanitarian assistance was provided to the individuals before they were moved to their places of origin. The Taliban administration also claimed that it remains committed to protecting the rights and freedoms of Afghan migrants abroad and to creating safe and appropriate conditions for returnees inside Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>Torkham is one of the most important border crossings between Afghanistan and Pakistan in the east of the country, while Spin Boldak is also one of the main transit routes in southern Afghanistan.
