At the same time, Mawlawi Mohammad Ismail Ghaznawi, the former governor of Badakhshan, was transferred to the deputy post for road maintenance and protection at the Ministry of Public Works.<\/p>\n<p>In other changes, the Taliban appointed Mullah Ahmad Shah Dindost, the former governor of Sar-e-Pol, as the police chief of Badakhshan. Mawlawi Abdulbasir Mazhari, the former police chief of Badakhshan, was also named head of the Public Works Department in Kandahar province.<\/p>\n<p>According to the published statement, Mullah Bakhtiar Muaz, the former governor of Laghman, has also been appointed as the new governor of Sar-e-Pol.
