The Taliban authorities have announced that all concrete barriers across Kabul city will be removed, a move residents in some areas, including Darul Aman, say is necessary to ease traffic movement. According to residents, the continued presence of these barriers along a number of routes has made daily commuting difficult and, in urgent cases, problematic.<\/p>\n
Abdul Matin Qane, spokesman for the Taliban-run Ministry of Interior, said there was no reason for some places to be exempt from the process, given what he described as nationwide security. He added that concrete barriers had already been removed from many important locations, including areas around senior officials and key ministries, and that barriers around diplomatic facilities would also be taken away.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a number of Kabul residents, especially in the Darul Aman area, are calling for the removal of concrete barriers in front of the Russian embassy. They say the barriers have lengthened routes and made it difficult for people to travel.<\/p>\n
The Taliban-run Ministry of Interior began removing concrete barriers in Kabul on October 20, 2025. The process first started around the ministry building and then expanded to other parts of the city.
