The Taliban administration says it has seized drugs and an alcohol production factory in separate operations in Kunduz, Nangarhar and Jowzjan provinces, and that 15 people have been arrested in connection with the cases.<\/p>\n
According to Taliban police, 484 kilograms of narcotics were seized in the Chahar Dara district of Kunduz province. In Nangarhar province, 88 kilograms of hashish along with 1,400 intoxicating tablets were also recovered.<\/p>\n
The Taliban administration also said that in Jowzjan province, a factory producing alcoholic drinks, along with 55 litres of fermented raisin liquid and some hashish and tablets, were seized.<\/p>\n
Based on the Taliban administration’s claim, those detained were arrested in connection with the production, smuggling and sale of these substances and will be handed over to judicial authorities after preliminary investigations.<\/p>\n
Kunduz, Nangarhar and Jowzjan are among Afghanistan’s important provinces in the north and east, and reports of drug seizures in these areas are occasionally released by security agencies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
