The Taliban administration said that at the second meeting of the joint economic and trade commission of Afghanistan and Belarus, the two sides agreed to establish banking mechanisms and money transfer systems to facilitate trade and investment. It said this, along with the formation of a joint working group, was the main focus of the meeting’s conclusions.<\/p>\n
The meeting was held in the city of Minsk and was chaired by Ataullah Omari, acting minister of agriculture, irrigation and livestock for the Taliban administration, and Yuri Gorlov, Belarus’s minister of agriculture and food.<\/p>\n
According to the Taliban administration’s Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, the meeting discussed the expansion of economic and trade relations, cooperation in agriculture and livestock, technology transfer, import and assembly of agricultural machinery, production of chemical fertilizers, food and dairy processing, as well as joint investment.<\/p>\n
According to the ministry’s claim, investment opportunities for Belarusian companies in Afghanistan’s mining and oil sectors were also reviewed at the meeting.<\/p>\n
