Russian President Vladimir Putin said attacks on the country\u2019s infrastructure, despite causing damage, have not been able to produce critical consequences. Speaking on Wednesday, he said logistics facilities and warehouses damaged in the attacks need to be rebuilt and restored, and that this process will be carried out with government support.<\/p>\n
Putin also said Russia\u2019s commercial infrastructure has, despite the attacks, continued to operate effectively, in his view. At the same time, he stressed that some centres had been damaged and that their reconstruction is on the agenda.<\/p>\n
In another part of his remarks, the Russian president reported continued economic growth in the country. According to him, Russia\u2019s gross domestic product rose 1.3% in the second quarter of this year and 0.6% in the first six months overall.<\/p>\n
He said he had instructed the Russian cabinet to maintain the stability and balance of the financial system and the public budget. Putin also added that Russia\u2019s consolidated budget deficit will reach 160 billion rubles, and that the coordinated implementation of economic development plans must continue.<\/p>\n
Putin cited external pressure and terrorist attacks as factors affecting the pace of Russia\u2019s economic growth. He also said artificial intelligence technologies and automation are important for offsetting labour shortages in various sectors of the country\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n
