{"id":19836,"date":"2026-08-17T13:00:32","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T13:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/2026\/08\/17\/taliban-courts-womens-rights-cases-inheritance-property-alimony\/"},"modified":"2026-08-17T13:00:32","modified_gmt":"2026-08-17T13:00:32","slug":"taliban-courts-womens-rights-cases-inheritance-property-alimony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/2026\/08\/17\/taliban-courts-womens-rights-cases-inheritance-property-alimony\/","title":{"rendered":"Taliban says courts handled more than 118,000 women\u2019s rights cases in five years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Taliban administration says Afghan courts have dealt with 118,869 cases related to women\u2019s religious and legal rights over the past five years, including cases involving inheritance, property, alimony and other women\u2019s rights.<\/p>\n<p>Mansour Ahmad Hamza, deputy spokesman for the Taliban-run Supreme Court, said 12,976 cases related to women\u2019s inheritance and property had been reviewed judicially during this period, while another 9,021 were under way in the collection and registration of information on women\u2019s inheritance cases.<\/p>\n<p>He said 18,750 other cases had also been handled in the area of property registration, property verification and the confirmation of women\u2019s documents. He added that 22,703 more cases had been registered in connection with the processing of documents and judicial actions in inheritance and property matters.<\/p>\n<p>Hamza also said that 8,904 cases related to alimony and other women\u2019s rights had been reviewed in the courts. He stressed that inheritance, property, dowry, alimony and other rights assigned to women under Islamic law are their established rights.<\/p>\n<p>The deputy spokesman for the Taliban-run Supreme Court said the courts are obliged to handle women\u2019s cases carefully, impartially and on the basis of Islamic law and applicable regulations. He said the process of handling these cases would continue in order to prevent women\u2019s rights from being lost.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court is the highest judicial body in the Taliban administration and is responsible for overseeing the handling of cases in the country\u2019s courts.
