It said that yesterday 229 families, comprising 1,065 people, entered the country through several border crossings, in a process that in many cases is accompanied by the urgent need of returning families for shelter, work and humanitarian assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the Taliban administration, said in a statement on Monday, 26 Asad, that these families returned to Afghanistan via the Torghundi, Spin Boldak, Nimroz and Islam Qala crossings.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, 141 families, consisting of 728 people, entered Afghanistan through the Torkham crossing. Three families also came through Spin Boldak, 74 families through the Nimroz border and 11 other families through the Islam Qala crossing.<\/p>\n<p>The return of these migrants has been recorded at a time when many returning families are facing a shortage of shelter, limited access to job opportunities and a need for humanitarian aid.<\/p>\n<p>The International Organization for Migration had earlier said that in the second quarter of 2026, a total of 866,579 people entered Afghanistan, 68% of whom were returnees.
