Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said Tehran sees no obstacle to issuing visas for Afghan citizens and that the country’s Foreign Ministry is ready to cooperate in making the visa process easier.<\/p>\n
He said Afghan applicants face no restrictions in the visa section, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry. Araghchi did not provide further details on how this cooperation would work or what practical mechanism would be used to facilitate visas.<\/p>\n
The Iranian foreign minister also stressed the expansion of trade ties, movement and border cooperation with Afghanistan. He said some of the problems and challenges in border areas could be pursued and resolved through direct contact between the provinces and border regions of both sides.<\/p>\n
According to him, many border issues do not necessarily need to be discussed at the central level between Tehran and Kabul. Araghchi added that Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkmenistan, under sanctions, are among Iran’s important neighbours in the economic sphere.<\/p>\n
He also described Razavi Khorasan as one of the centres for developing economic relations and travel with neighbouring countries.
