The Taliban administration has once again called for recognition by countries around the world, a demand made as it continues to clash with the international community over the structure of power and the implementation of its policies.<\/p>\n
Sheikh Shir Ahmad Haqqani, acting minister of information and culture in the Taliban administration, said at a ceremony marking the fifth anniversary of the group\u2019s return to power that the Taliban did not take instructions from any side in forming the system of governance and will not do so in the future.<\/p>\n
He claimed that Afghanistan\u2019s current system was created by Afghans and that the people of the country freely and independently obey and pledge allegiance to Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada.<\/p>\n
According to Haqqani, refusing the demands of others is one reason for the international community\u2019s opposition to the Taliban administration. He also described the implementation of Islamic Sharia and the preservation of Afghanistan\u2019s independence as among the main points of dispute between the administration and the countries of the world.<\/p>\n
The acting minister of information and culture also claimed that the Taliban administration has full control over all of Afghanistan\u2019s territory and that governance in the country continues. He said providing security and controlling all of Afghanistan were among the matters that, in his view, should pave the way for recognition of the Taliban administration.<\/p>\n
In part of his remarks, Haqqani also referred to the Taliban\u2019s 20-year war against foreign forces and said the group had made sacrifices for what it calls Afghanistan\u2019s freedom and would not back down from Sharia in the future.<\/p>\n
Since returning to power in August 2021, the Taliban administration has not been recognized by any country, despite efforts to gain international legitimacy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
