A new survey and official data indicate a significant rise in the number of Israeli citizens leaving the country following the events known as the “Al-Aqsa Storm” and subsequent wars, turning the issue into a serious topic in Israel’s political discourse.<\/p>\n
According to a survey conducted by the Kan network, nearly one-third of participants said they know someone who has left Israel in the past two years. Additionally, 18 percent of respondents said they themselves are considering emigration.<\/p>\n
This survey was conducted ahead of the planned October elections and shows that 12 percent of participants said the election results might influence their decision to stay or leave the country. In contrast, about two-thirds said the election outcome would not affect their decision, while nearly one-fifth expressed uncertainty.<\/p>\n
Regarding concerns about the rising migration trend, 46 percent said they were not worried, but 41 percent expressed concern. This worry was more pronounced among opponents of the ruling coalition; around 60 percent of them said they are concerned about the increasing citizen departures, whereas 70 percent of supporters of Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet reported no concern.<\/p>\n
At the same time, data released by Tel Aviv University based on official statistics shows that between 2023 and 2025, approximately 268,509 people left Israel for an extended period\u2014a figure described as unprecedented in recent years. Just last year, about 90,000 people left the country for at least three months, surpassing the average recorded over the past decade.<\/p>\n
Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics had earlier estimated the country’s population to be about 10,178,000 by December 31, 2025.
