According to the ministry, these decisions were made following monitoring and evaluations conducted during the spring semester of the Iranian calendar year 1405.

The announcement identified the private universities affected: Berlas University in Jowzjan province, Rah-e Saadat and Turkestan Universities in Balkh, Azhar and Borna Universities in Badakhshan, Rashad University in Faryab, and Payam University in Kabul have all been suspended for one year. Additionally, the licenses of Kohandiz University in Kunduz and Khana-e-Danish University in Takhar have been permanently revoked.

The Ministry of Higher Education accused these institutions of failing to meet required educational standards. They reportedly enrolled “imaginary students” and issued graduation certificates without ensuring regular attendance in classes and practical work, thereby facilitating administrative corruption. The statement claimed that in some classes where courses were scheduled, not a single student was present.

Further allegations include the absence of leadership and administrative bodies, failure to record class attendance, including deprived students in the final semester exams, lack of laboratory equipment for medical fields, failure to teach the prescribed curricula, and inadequate practical training opportunities in hospitals, all cited as primary reasons for this decision.

Currently, more than 120 private higher education institutions operate across Afghanistan’s 34 provinces, with a significant portion being medical institutes. These institutions have played an important role in facilitating access to higher education for youth, especially in the provinces.

Taliban suspends or revokes licenses of nine private universities in Afghanistan over educational standards and corruption concerns, affecting hundreds of students.

[17,8,3

post-19310","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-social-affairs","category-top-news
["GET
