It is also linked to a memorandum of understanding signed in June between the U.S. and Iran aimed at ending conflicts and reopening this waterway, which ultimately did not come to fruition.<\/p>\n<p>The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world&#8217;s most important maritime corridors, with a significant portion of global energy transit passing through it.
