As nearly five years have passed since the Taliban administration returned to power and continues to face challenges to its international legitimacy, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the administration, considers nationwide security the most significant achievement of their rule.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Tolo News, Mujahid said that in the early years, the Taliban administration faced diplomatic obstacles, economic problems, and a large influx of returning refugees; however, he claimed that during this period, security has been maintained throughout the country and a system based on Islamic Sharia law has been established.<\/p>\n
According to him, all laws and decisions are now made in accordance with Sharia, which has been one of the aspirations of the Afghan people. The Taliban spokesperson also stated that Kabul has managed to maintain relations with several countries and is working to expand diplomatic and economic interactions.<\/p>\n
Despite these claims, only Russia has formally recognized the Taliban administration so far. The international community considers respect for human rights, the formation of an inclusive government, and the fight against terrorism as prerequisites for formal engagement with the administration.
