Officials from Afghanistan’s electricity distribution company, Breshna, say that several major companies from neighboring countries, including Russia, have expressed interest in investing in the production of electrical equipment within Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
According to these officials, Afghanistan has the capacity to attract millions of dollars in investment for producing the necessary equipment for its power grid. They emphasized that currently, most of the equipment used by Breshna is imported from other countries, and increasing domestic production could reduce the dependence on imports to some extent.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, private sector representatives have described investment in electrical equipment production as a serious necessity and have called for speeding up the investment process in this sector. They believe that developing local production will not only reduce imports but also create employment opportunities for thousands of people.<\/p>\n
Economic analysts also stress that alongside investment in electricity production, there should be investments in manufacturing the equipment needed for power generation and transmission. This approach would enable domestic products to enter the market and reduce the volume of imports.<\/p>\n
