Doctors and researchers at the 16th scientific meeting of the French Mother and Child Medical Institute (FMIC) in Kabul emphasized the need to expand medical research in the country and urged the Taliban administration to facilitate the functioning of more research centers.<\/p>\n
Participants in the meeting identified a shortage of specialists in certain medical fields as a significant challenge, which, they said, has impacted the quality of healthcare services in the country.<\/p>\n
Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy of Health Services at the Ministry of Public Health under the Taliban administration, stated at the meeting that quality should be a fundamental part of the daily work of every healthcare worker and hospital, and healthcare services must be provided to citizens equitably and with high quality. He described the role of research as crucial in improving the health system.<\/p>\n
FMIC officials announced that 173 scientific papers were received for this session. The meeting was held under the title “Improving Health Outcomes Through Research and Collaborative Partnerships.”<\/p>\n
The French Mother and Child Medical Institute was established in Kabul 20 years ago.
