The Kuwait Arab Economic Development Fund announced that based on two new agreements with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), it has allocated $2.5 million to support humanitarian programs in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
The fund stated in a press release that the total value of these two agreements amounts to $5 million, which will be equally distributed between the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund and the Syria Humanitarian Fund.<\/p>\n
According to the Kuwait Arab Economic Development Fund, these contributions will finance urgent humanitarian programs and projects, address critical needs, and provide life-saving assistance to vulnerable and needy individuals.<\/p>\n
The press release added that the new financial resources to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund, which is managed by OCHA, enable a faster and more flexible response to humanitarian crises, support partner organizations, and enhance coordination of relief operations.<\/p>\n
The Kuwait Arab Economic Development Fund also noted that with the signing of these agreements, the country\u2019s total contributions to joint projects with OCHA have reached approximately $16.1 million.<\/p>\n
