The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan emphasized the necessity of ensuring the security of strategic waterways such as the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab, as well as the return to the agreement signed between the United States and Iran, during a meeting in Amman, the capital of Jordan.<\/p>\n
In this meeting, which was described as the fifth session within the framework of a quadrilateral mechanism, the participants regarded the preservation of freedom of navigation and the continuity of international trade as vital for global economic stability. They called for intensified joint coordination and alignment of positions in response to ongoing regional developments.<\/p>\n
The participants also underscored their support for efforts to reach a sustainable agreement between Washington and Tehran; an agreement that, according to them, could prevent escalating tensions and contribute to enhancing regional stability.<\/p>\n
The meeting was attended by Egypt\u2019s Foreign Minister Badr Abdellaty, Turkey\u2019s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Saudi Arabia\u2019s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, and Pakistan\u2019s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting regarding Jerusalem.<\/p>\n
Egypt\u2019s Foreign Ministry announced that the discussions focused on recent regional developments amid increased militarization and ways to reduce tensions, particularly concerning the Strait of Hormuz. Saudi Arabia\u2019s official news agency also reported that the ministers welcomed the establishment of a \u201cmultinational naval defense coalition\u201d to strengthen maritime security and protect international waterways.<\/p>\n
