The Taliban administration has announced the allocation of residential land to 65,154 returning refugee families. Despite millions of refugees having returned to the country over the past three years, many continue to face shortages of shelter and unemployment. The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing of the Taliban government stated in a press release on Wednesday, 14th Asad, that in the latest distribution, land was allotted to 1,163 families across five provinces.<\/p>\n
According to the ministry, 693 families in Nangarhar, 108 in Paktika, 112 in Nimroz, 150 in Faryab, and 100 in Bamyan received plots of land. The ministry added that the process of distributing land to returning refugees is ongoing.<\/p>\n
Reports indicate that over six million refugees have returned to Afghanistan from Iran and Pakistan in the last three years, a trend that continues.
