Following ongoing tensions between Kabul and Islamabad, the Taliban administration has announced that Pakistan\u2019s closure of transit routes has negatively impacted Afghan traders and trade relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Taliban administration, said on Saturday during the program \u201cGovernment in the Mirror of the Press\u201d that continuing political and economic tensions benefit neither country. He emphasized that the Taliban administration does not seek to expand disputes with any country and is striving to resolve existing issues with Pakistan through dialogue.<\/p>\n
According to Mujahid, Pakistan\u2019s blocking of transit routes has created challenges for bilateral trade. He added that \u201cfinal efforts are underway to take effective steps for a fundamental resolution to these problems.\u201d<\/p>\n
In recent months, relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan have repeatedly experienced tensions over security and trade issues. The closure of border crossings in the past has caused significant financial losses to traders on both sides and disrupted the flow of goods.<\/p>\n
In another part of his remarks, the Taliban spokesman addressed a group called the \u201cUnited Front,\u201d claiming it does not have a significant presence inside Afghanistan and that its activities are limited to social media.
