According to the administration, this initiative aims to provide drinking water to the residents of this area.<\/p>\n<p>Hafez Abdulrahman Hamid, the mayor of Mazar-i-Sharif, stated that the Taliban administration in Balkh has decided to extend two pipelines from the mentioned canal to Lorutape to meet the water needs of the residents in this region.<\/p>\n<p>He added that with the implementation of this plan, a large number of Lorutape inhabitants will gain access to safe drinking water.<\/p>\n<p>The Qoshtepe canal is one of the major water transfer projects in northern Afghanistan, previously highlighted by the Taliban administration as one of their large-scale initiatives.
