According to this administration, the project aims to provide drinking water to the residents of this area.<\/p>\n<p>Hafiz Abdulrahman Hamid, the mayor of Mazar-i-Sharif, stated that the Taliban administration in Balkh has decided to extend two pipeline lines from the mentioned canal to Lorutepa in order to meet the water needs of the residents in this area.<\/p>\n<p>He added that by implementing this plan, a large number of Lorutepa residents will gain access to safe drinking water.<\/p>\n<p>The Qoshtepa canal is one of the major water transfer projects in northern Afghanistan, which the Taliban administration has previously identified as one of its key initiatives.
