Chinese officials accused the U.S. of using the issue of forced labor and human rights violations as a pretext to impose unilateral sanctions based on its domestic laws.

According to China’s Ministry of Commerce, this action harms the legal rights of Chinese companies and could disrupt global industrial and supply chains. Beijing also stated it will take necessary measures to protect the interests of its companies.

These sanctions were announced one day after trade officials from both countries held talks, which China described as “frank and constructive” aimed at maintaining the stability of bilateral economic relations.

Washington announced on Friday that it had blacklisted 43 Chinese firms due to connections with forced labor, including issues related to Uyghurs and other minorities. This marks the first expansion of the blacklist during President Donald Trump’s administration and is the largest since the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act went into effect in December 2021.

China reiterated its opposition to forced labor, denied allegations of forced labor in the Xinjiang region, and urged the U.S. not to politicize the matter.

China condemns US sanctioning 43 firms under Uyghur forced labor law, calling it economic coercion and vows to protect its companies’ rights amid rising tensions.

[6

post-18871","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-international
["GET
