Spain’s Ministry of the Interior has reported that the number of bodies discovered along the shores of the Ceuta region has risen to 67 following a surge of migrants attempting to enter the area. According to the ministry, some of the victims died in the crush of people trying to cross the breakwater, while others drowned at sea. This incident occurred amid heightened border tensions between Spain and Morocco.<\/p>\n
Reports indicate that approximately 60,000 migrants crossed the border into this small Spanish enclave over Thursday and Friday. In response, Spanish authorities have announced plans to construct a 500-meter barrier extending from the breakwater into the sea.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Spain’s Foreign Minister Jos\u00e9 Albares stated that nearly all individuals who entered Ceuta have been returned to Morocco. He noted that more than 48,000 migrants who crossed into Spanish territory from Morocco have been sent back.
