Nafisa Hijran, former member of Logar Provincial Council, emphasized on the occasion of Afghanistan’s National Flag Day that the country\u2019s tricolor flag, with a history spanning over a century, holds a deeply rooted place in the national identity of Afghans and will never be erased from the minds and hearts of the people.<\/p>\n
She stated that this flag was introduced during the era of Ghazi Amanullah Khan and was designated as the official national emblem during the republican period. According to Hijran, under President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani\u2019s administration, the 7th of Asad (July 29) was officially named \u201cNational Flag Day.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hijran added that although different flags have been used in Afghanistan at various historical times, none have achieved the widespread national significance and international recognition that the tricolor flag has.<\/p>\n
